It seems a bit unbelievable that the Butterfly Effect could have such a big impact on our lives, but it really is so. Edward Lorenz’s discovery was initially part of the mathematics of Chaos Theory, but it can be applied to everyday life as well. Actions taken today can very much change the future. And we know small actions may have huge consequences. Everything you do today could, through the Butterfly Effect, create a new future for people everywhere. Given that wonderful opportunity, you should go ahead and make that change you have been thinking about. After all, it’s Exalano Day!
Exalano Day was created many years ago as a unique holiday where we are all called upon to march forth from our daily routine and do something new and different. The annual call to celebrate Exalano Day has been issued in each of the last thirty-three years by the Exalano Day Committee (the EDC), a very, very small group of people on a mission to create a big impact, starting with a figurative flap of a butterfly's wings. The word 'Exalano' comes from the Greek word meaning 'to march forth', and hence it is a natural idea to declare that the fourth day of March should be called Exalano Day. On this most unique holiday, the Exalano Day Committee declares that you should march forth and make a change to your own circumstances - by doing something you want to do, something new, something exciting.
On Wednesday, March 4, 2009, all of us should create our own Butterfly Effect by marching forth and celebrating Exalano Day.
